Hi,

One week ago, I went to domestic business lounge in Melbourne after my flight with 1 guest.

The guy at the front desk checked my status, and said the arrival access is supposed to only for the Platinum members themselves. However, he still let us in. But he acted as he has made an exception for us.

Today, I happened to ring Hobart call centre to ask something else. And the super friendly lady has clearly re-assured me that I am allowed to bring guests (2 adults and 2 kids) when I access the domestic business lounge after my flight as per Qantas published benefit.

Does anyone know that the guest rule for platinum members is the same before and after a flight at domestic business lounge?

Unless something has been enhanced, you can bring your guests. Done many time pre covid, but on a few rare occasions the front desk made it sound like it was a favor. Was not possible during covid.

No issues with taking in a guest on arrivals access yesterday at Melbourne (and this was off a JQ flight too).

My understanding is that WP/P1 guest numbers apply regardless of whether its departures or arrivals access. I can't see anything in the T&Cs that says otherwise.

Cannot find a reference in QF web site, but expect its there somewhere

Qantas Lounge Access on Arrival

Qantas does allow access to its domestic lounges on arrival in some circumstances. Platinum and Platinum One frequent flyers may visit any Qantas domestic Business lounge when arriving on a Qantas or partner airline flight. Up to two guests are even allowed. But arrivals access is not permitted at international Qantas lounges.

Arrivals access is not generally offered to Qantas Business or First class passengers, with a few exceptions. Qantas Business class passengers arriving in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane after an overnight flight from Perth can use the Qantas Business lounge on arrival.
