The missus and I are traveling to London soon and we are leaving from Sydney which means we have a Qantas domestic connecting flight from Melbourne first.

My question is can we checkin for the international flights (all on Q) at Melbourne Airport and if so, where do we do so?

Is there a special Q checkin counter for international connections or will any domestic checkin counter do?

Thanks and cheers

Yep - dead easy if you know what you are doing.

Depending on class of travel make sure that they give you the correct coloured boarding pass. AT MEL last time I was quizzed on my two bags at immigration as I had an economy BP even though I was travelling J.

Enjoy :)

Edited for a misreading of the mel-syd-int'l as syd-mel-int'l - oops

Based on flying MEL-SYD(dom), SYD(int)-xx_-LHR:

At the far RHS of the MEL domestic QF check-in is an "International Connections" check-in area.

This is where you will need to check-in. You will be issued with MEL-SYD BP as well as SYD-xx_-LHR BP.

Luggage will also be checked through.

On arrival in SYD, go the the international transfers counter near gate 2. If you are flying J/F, or a WP flying Y, get your outbound e-pass from the agent at the transfer counter.

From here you will be bused to the international terminal, at which point you will go through customs and immigration clearance.

Buses leave every 20 minutes or so.

Thank you very much for the help.....Much appreciated.

We are flying J class so I will make sure we have the right boarding passes.
