Hi
I booked a flight on Qantas about 6 hours ago and still have not received my E-Ticket. Usually when I book with Qantas I get it within an hour. Should I be worried?

Welcome to AFF.

While it can mean an issue with the ticket, generally it's just slowness on the Qantas end. You'll also see slowness when purchasing tickets from some overseas Qantas websites.

Leave it for a while, it will probably turn up in the morning. If it doesn't then it might be worthwhile giving Qantas a call and finding out if there are any issues.

There have only been a few slow e-ticket receipt deliveries to me. Once I entered a slightly incorrect credit card number and got a phonecall a few hours later to clarify the details, another time Qantas was having problems with their email server, and other times I've run into that issue with overseas issued tickets.

Thanks, Will Check in the morning. ;)

Email has arrived. But now another question. I have requested an Flight Upgrade on the way back (SYD-MEL). If I view the booking online it says the flight upgrade has been confirmed. But do Qantas send out a confirmation email?

Good question. It's been a long time since I've requested a domestic upgrade, but IIRC, no email is sent out after the upgrade has been applied.

Someone else should be able to confirm.

I don't think you get an email confirming upgrades. I'd just take a printout of your booking on the QF site that shows you have a Business seat.

I don't remember receiving an email for dom upgrades. It's not like an upgrade will change your plans prior to getting onto the plane (with exception to the J-Lounge), so QF probably figures there is not much point sending out the confirmation email...

OK. I have now confirmed flying Business. I am scheduled to fly an an A330-303 which has the Skybed. Has anyone flown on a Skybed from SYD-MEL or MEL-SYD. Is it any different to an international flight? (Obviously it is shorter).

Domestic A330-300 aircraft have skybeds now:confused:

Seems a bit wierd

It must be a repositioning flight, as QF A333 all have skybeds, and 99% of the time are used for international ops.

It is the domestic A332's that do not have skybeds.

There is useally a couple of A330-300 flights MEL-SYD or SYD-MEL flights a week. Most of them are in the morning. But on the 15th June the schedule has an A330-300 for QF453.

I think sometimes if a A330-300 arrives into Sydney in the early afternoon and is scheduled to fly out late in the evening they put on an afternoon SYD-MEL-SYD or SYD-BNE-SYD flight.

MEL/SYD - you will hardly have time to work out the seat controls before you are due to land :)

Enjoy and let us know how it went

Mr!
