Qantas Earning on AA Basic Economy

Keen to understand if fare class (B) - Basic Economy on AA flights earn Qantas points/status credits. I can't find this information on the AA page on Qantas.

My interpretation is it would fall under Discount Economy

That's correct. B is not an eligible booking class on AA to earn QF SC and points.

Thats about right Since Covid Qantas have gone downhill. I have 6 previous Economy Class (B) and flew American, they denied me in in same comment as above. Now i just got another 2 legs denied for the month of July. So we have to spend an arm and leg or more to acquire points Im almost done with this airline!!

Since COVID? There was no QFF earn on 'B' class AA fares in 2019 either.
This is not just a QFF thing. It's actually very rare that cheap deep discount economy fares on any airline will earn on partner frequent flyer programs.

Since AA introduced Basic economy (maybe a decade ago), B class has never earned points/SC with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

I did a fair bit of AA travel earlier this year and avoided B for two main reasons - the non earning on QFF & the loss of flexibility. Only "Basic" economy domestic fares have penalties for changes in general including cancel to credit and rerouting. I felt it worth the additional cost.

This is an AA decision, not QF. AA has to pay QF for the points.
