Hi there

I will be flying Economy class to San Fran next month with QANTAS.
I recall reading somewhere ( perhaps in this forum ? ) that under Economy class seats C,D,G & H there are boxes for the entertainment system that reduce your legroom.
As I am 6' I am a little concerned about this fact.
Is the lack of legroom really that bad ??
I'm hoping someone who has had personal experience can confirm one way or the other.
Apologies if this has already been discussed before

cheers

Hmm, from memory the box is about 15x15x20 cm and located closest to the aisle in each row. I'm 5'9" and it was annoying enough to me. I kept kicking it when I stretched out. It didn't prevent me from getting some sleep, but I did end up sleeping slanted which made my back a bit sore.

In summary, the box is annoying, but I'd prefer it to sitting in a middle seat!

Exactly the reason why I have requested an aisle seat !!

Thank you for replying. I won't worry so much now

cheers

Ditto that.... just make sure you aren't up against the bulkhead, can't stretch your feet out then which is far worse IMO.

Hi Bagman,
We have just flown London to Singapore in Qantas ecconomy class.
My Hubby is over 6ft tall and found it a bit tight but was able to get up often and stretch his legs.
The cabin crew were very understanding and let him sit on a crew seat for a while as well just for some leg room'
All in all it was a great flight and you coulldn't want for better care

I am 5'9" and the times I have sat in aisle seat on QF flights with IFE box underneath seat in front never really had any hassle with the IFE box. Aisle seats for me are good in that I can stretch one leg in the aisle along the base of the seat in front and stretch the other leg away from the IFE box.

I agree with mainly tailfirst that the IFE box can be annoying sometimes but no great hassle.

I'm taller than JohnK and some seats the IFE box is a nuisance and makes for uncomfortable seating. The aisle is better in that chance to stretch out a bit, but watch for the trolleys and try not to trip up cabin crew or other pax!
