There has been discussion around the Qantas Emirates partnership in terms of difficulties. So it was interesting to see a commercial on tv heralding the Qantas Emirates partnership in terms of the airlines’ ten year association. Any thoughts on the significance of this commercial and what it could mean for FF.

Don't read too much into it, it's purely just marketing. Nothing is/has changed for FFers.
Emirates gets to advertise, and Qantas do too. All while sharing the cost.

I doubt it means anything. just a fuzzy thing and probably to divert a bit from recent issues with QF and a side boot to QR/VA possibly as an added bonus.

Doubt it means anything in terms of QFF or any significant changes being afoot.

It's probably in the contract that they each have to contribute for advertising

I was hoping they'd at least give reciprocal lounge access!

I'm flying EK out of SYD booked direct with EK. Was hoping to get access to some kind of lounge access with a qantas lounge pass. Oh well ;)

Agree. The ad was surprising to say the least.
@Danster - lounge passes are very hard to use like this regardless. Usually access only based on fare and any status.

The Qantas sign as you come off Southern Cross Drive onto General Holmes Drive is now a co-branded Qantas/Emirates advertisement.
