QANTAS FF competitions ???

Has anyone on this forum ever won any of these comps that QF run for their FF's ?? Like the current one for Billy Elliot or whatever.

I would have thought with the amount of travel that people do here there would be one, or they know someone who has.

Nor me, but have often wondered who wins these things?

I have been to many an exhibition, as an exhibitor, and laugh at those stands that have "put you business card in here to win xx_xx_XX". Then later seeing the stand holders going throught the cards to choose who actually wins the prize. Surprise, surpirse it's normally an employee of one of their major customers or prospects.:shock:

I won two tickets to see the LA galaxy play against the Sydney soccer team at Telstra stadium. I could not go on the night but gave the tickets to a soccer mad mate who turned 50 that day so he took his wife and they loved seeing becks bend it. I got an email from QF about it and replied back saying yes thanks.

I dropped a business card in a box during a Jamison Irish Whiskey QP promotion in 1998 and won a trip for two to Ireland courtesy of Irish Distillers.

Developed a taste for for a wee drop or two of the "John" after that.

Not me personally, but a friend won one of those F1-customised Playstation 3's they were giving away earlier this year, which I thought was a very decent prize (nothing on flights and Billy Elliot, but pretty good nonetheless).

Personally I have won some movie tickets from QF.

I was recently having this conversation with a close friend of mine and one of her colleagues won the Around the World in Business Class promotion after Malev & Royal Jordanian joined One World.

N ever won a FF comp but I have won : A Laptop computer, a digital camera, a video camera and an IPOD from seperate "business cards" in a barrell. 2 at the same seminar !!

Haven't won thru. ff, but still hoping.

I was one of 3 people who won 100,000 pts. for obtaining amex thru. RACQ and that was the beginning of my travel. I used the pts for first trip to UK and have been fortunate since to have RTW thru. award flts. I'm all self-funded so it's little steps at a time.

I've picked up movie tickets from Qantas, but havn't really won anything from the many competitions I've entered.

There are millions of Qantas FF'ers, and there would be something like 100000 pax per day flying Qantas (estimate only!) so the chances are really small.

Never won a computer generated prize like those offered on QF email or on Getaway etc, but last year I won a 7 course degustation dinner for 2 at a local restaurant, and straight after that, when making a purchase at a local liquor store, I was offered the opportunity to win a $7000 bar for my house. I said sure, thinking that I would have to buy a new house if I won the bar. Some weeks later, when I had forgotten entering this comp, I get a phone call saying that I hadn't won the bar but I had won a Weber. I went to pick it up - didn't have to prove ID and I found that it was a Weber Q200 worth about $520. You beauty - cooks the best steak on the Far North Coast.

I used to think the same then someone I know won a PS3 in the Jan promotion and I won a Lenovo computer in the April comp. Best chance is when they offer multiple entries over multiple days rather than one entry per sector. Keep trying!
