Well ever since around 10 pm last night (17/3/06) I've been unable to get into my FF account. Still down now 20 hours later. Anyone else having the same problem?

Was working earlier today, and I just tried it now and no problems for me.

Yes, I have the same problem unable to access the Qantas, and have had a problem opening a couple of other sites after I updated microsoft windows yesterday. I think I might restore to my previous setting.

EDIT: As soon as I write the above post, QF site opens up for me. That's computers for you.

Damn I wonder why it is still not working for me. I haven't update Window IE and I've tried logging in with Firefox as well and still no go.

A big pain. I might even have to ring them at some stage as I actually did want to check out a new booking I made late yesterday. :x

I don't mean to sound rude, but is it really necessary to post everytime the QF website has a problem?

Geez odoherty, you are so rude!

Nah! Just kidding. :)

I made the same comment the other day and I was told that it is quite relevant to report on AFF everytime FT or QF websites are down. :? I would have thought that it would be better, and more productive, to ring QF and tell them of the problems accessing their website.

Fair comments odoherty & JohnK I actually have spoken to QANTAS a lot about this issue. First they said it was a widespread temp problem, then I pointed out I knew people who could still access (thanks Macca)

I was then informed it was working for everyone (including me) at which point they tried to log in to my account from their end and got the same problem. I was promised this would be quickly fixed. Well that was Saturday and after another call and a few e-mails still no access.

I'm about to go on a very long overseas trip so I'd like to have access via the internet, anyway we'll see how long it takes to get fixed, I just wish I would get a straight answer and not a guess from the Premiun Desk.

Thanks to those who replied at least I knew that way it wasn't widespread and related to my account only :?

I agree that there is no point posting it every time. So the website goes down for a while; whoop de do ; it happens, webservers go down for whatever reason. It will come back again ( unless the reason it goes down is that QF goes out of business ) in which case I am sure that there would be a few posts about that anyway :) . It isn't as if the loss of the site for a few hours is that major a loss; things can be done on other sites/by phone if necessary

No, it's not related to your account only.

I am having similar problems, and through this site I can share my solution for any other with similar issues.

www.qantas.com , qantas.com & www.qantas.com.au have not been working for me where previously they had been ok.

However, I have been able to get around it by using the Frequent Flyer Link: http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/program/welcome .

Well Dave, you might have to accept not everybody sees it your way either  - we can't please everybody.

I have tended to post when it is down, so others can know that they aren't the only ones that have a problem if they check AFF...at least then they will be more accepting of th problem.

Some people would prefer not to wait in a telephone queue even if QF are paying the bill (don't forget not everyone here is Plat), particularly when they know that others who have the similar "web down" problem will be doing exactly the same thing - getting on the phone to QF!!

Of course, if you are concerned with us posting these things here Dave - you don't have to read this thread :D

Now for my 2c :)

While the inability to get to a website may be due to the site being down, sometimes you may find that the outage is for whatever reason restricted to some specific group of users (for example, Hilton was recently unavailable in Aust and was ok from the rest of the world). If there is an extended outage, my view is that it is worth trying to find if it is a problem restricted to you, your ISP, or if the server is in fact down.
