Yesterday I reviewed a series of July bookings to find that three hour time changes to flights resulted in a plane leaving NZ before the one from OZ was arriving for a connecting trip to USA.
Then back into Melbourne from LAX the Perth connection could no longer be made due to the departure time having moved about 3 hours in LAX.
Flights are disappearing so if you are travelling during the school holiday period you need to check your revised flight times so your next flight is still truly available.

You mean QF from AU -> NZ and QF from NZ -> USA ???
Or a mix of airlines ?
It woudn't be the first time QF make a mess like this... had it happen to me, one one ticket they changed flights that resulted in a misconnect 100%, they rang me and put me on an earlier flight.

Yes QF for all the flights both ways.

:confused::confused: why do they do that :( had it happen to me ont he same ticket so no excuses for them not knowing there was connecting passangers. I guess if you need to make a change then it needs to be done some time. Probably school holidays is not the best time when you have familys to deal with.
Such is life !

Holidays can be the greatest stress in your life.

I can only imagine what the other 4 travellers would be saying about me when they could arrive on QF for a NZ stopover to find their next flight to LAX not even listed because it had gone before they even arrived.

Now that would not be a great way to start!

When a change occurs, the system logs it and if there is no contact from the passenger then they would contact you about the change and would sort it out

At the moment it is 3 months away and so not a high priority to contact yet

Dave, thank you for the reassurance on what QF will do.

I have had to get my 17 year old accommodation in Melbourne as his flight has no connection to Perth due to the changes.

Have you spoken to QF about the issue . If this is a through booking, then they will sort out flights as best as possible. If their changes necessitate an overnight stay, then they may well pay for the hotel

Dave I would not want to play up on this as I have 3 first class sectors and 7 business class sectors for the international travel to and from the US.
With a retail value way north of $60,000 for points redemption of about 1.1 million I think I can cover it.
I still have a cranky partner as she would prefer to travel both ways in first so I still regularly look to fix it.

If QF have made the changes, its definitely worth a call to them imo. They may be able to adjust flights appropriately or at least meet ya overnight costs. I cant see that there is anything to lose in asking
