Qantas flights to USA in February 2014

My memory is failing me......

Im thinking of taking my daughters to USA in February, and not sure if I remember last year that there was a sale on USA tickets for that time.......

should i I grab the economy priced tickets now.....or hold out and wait for a sale that may come......or have I already missed it?

Have you seen the QF 'unmissable sale' -$1399 to LAX $1699 to NYC - 4 Feb thru 27 March. Sale on till 27 Nov

Do you care who you fly with or what alliance for FF? Is your pref for price over quality?

I have been researching my own USA trip and found the below flights the best value at the current time. I don't think you will get much cheaper if you wait, and there is always the possibility of it going up. More experienced members might know more history on the sales though.

Departing Melbourne in Feb
Qantas - from $1399 to LA, $1649 to NY (Flights to Los Angeles, London and more from Melbourne | Qantas)
Virgin - from $1269 to LA (Flights from Melbourne | Flight Specials | Virgin Australia)
Fiji Airlines - from $1399 ($890 for child) (Special Fares - Fiji Airways Official Site) special has gone up from last month
United - from $1193
China Southern - from $1284

Departing Melbourne in May/June
Air New Zealand - from $1150 to LA (Los Angeles - USA - USA & Canada - Special Deals - Air New Zealand - Australia Site)


I personally have booked with Qantas as I wanted the points/SC/lounge etc. The Air New Zealand deal is the best value for money at the moment as $1150 to LA is a bargain on a fairly good airline. It would appear this is only valid for May/June though.
