Hi,
I am meant to be starting work for Qantas sound Part-time in Ground services and just realised it is a subsidiary company and what i have been reading is they basicly get paid less and less benefits.

I was wondering if anybody knew the benefits that you actually receive? e.g cheaper flights (how cheap), salary sacrifice e.t.c

Thanks

First off join the TWU.

QGS are just like Jetstar's Express Ground Handling (EHG), who do the ramp work.

QF no longer employ under their 'old' EBA or directly under QF. As for staff travel, if you receive it (which you should, after 6mths), should be stated in your EBA.

thanks i assume the twu is the union. and i havnt had a chance too look at that eba as i haven't started yet and was trying to weigh up the pay cut and benifits that would be received as my interview was a year ago and they have called to say they are hiring now. i think i remember 20% loading before 7am, 30% after 7 or 9, 150% sat and 200 or 250% Sunday but not sure if i am correct as the rate of pay was quite low so weekends would be helpful
