hi,

I am about to book 4 rooms for two nights for an upcoming conference and qantas.com has a good rate for the hotel we are using. The hotel info says 3 points per $ spent. As I complete the accom booking there is a page where I have to enter the names of guests and their FF numbers.

I'm thinking of booking them all in my name and using my QFF number.

Anyone know at what stage the 3 points/$ accrues and an opinion on the above strategy?

An active link to a Qantas holiday hotel bookings with bonus points is appreciated if anyone knows of a current promo.

Thanks in advance

note you must be flying qf to get the points. Don't know about the multi bookings though

You dont need to have a flight let alone be flying with QF to get points for rooms booked online through QF, although actually getting them credited often requires legwork. I see no reason why you cnanot get points for all the rooms if they ar ein your name.

I'm sure I had a booking in April this year thru qantas holidays hotel only and no points as no flight. However i've just read the t+c on the web site and nothing. I'll try to find the booking confirmation and report back, however ,I think I might be chasing some points at the call center soon.
Thanks markis10

I had one in March also. Was ultimately told that points were not applicable to the booking. I'll be more careful about my bookings in future.

Well I've made the bookings online. For info of participants

On the first Submit booking page first wouldn't allow:

Double entry of the same name
(So I made 1 room Mr Alby Albatross & the other Mr A Albatross)

Then on the second submit double entry of the same number
(So I made 1 room on Mr Albatross and used Mrs Albatross number as well)

Just for good measure, I will book the other rooms on another booking for another $5 booking fee)

I'll be interested to see what points actually eventuate. I notice on the confirmation it says
3/$ spend at the hotel....but my spend so far is with Qantas/Readyrooms....hopefully the points will accrue on more than just my mini-bar spend.

Will update as the story unfolds in a few weeks.

If booking hotel rooms through Qantas Holidays there are no QFF points.

If booking hotel rooms via Qantas/Readyrooms and the website mentions 3 QFF points/A$ then you will receive QFF points based on the spend for the room + at most hotels this also includes spend at the hotel.

Earning points for hotel stays

Please note 9.6.2

Qantas Earning points for hotel stays said:
Points may be earned only by the Member whose name appears on the invoice for the hotel stay and by only one Member per hotel stay. Points cannot be split between two or more Members occupying the same room.
If you are going to receive 1 invoice for all the rooms then you can claim QFF points to your own QFF member account. But I would also assume that multiple invoices in the one name will accrue QFF points to that member. The condition is a little confusing the way it mentions 'hotel stay'.

Qantas Holidays is the organisation that books ready rooms and packages, the difference is that package holidays dont get points, hotel bookings on their own should, its quite clear in the hotel bookings T&C's as well as the QFF T&C's.

I believe holidays booked through Qantas Holidays earn 1 point per dollar, when part of a package. I have always got those points, though can take up to a couple of months.

Thanks, I should have been clearer, the 3 points per dollar is not applicable :)
