My point is more that if that really is so simple or that's their plan, why haven't they just done that? Why leave it to the day before to make the change when every day that passes more people will be making connecting booking for dates over the next year that'll all have to be rebooked (or possibly refunded)?
I think if it's their intention, they're keeping in the back pocket as the last option if they can't do anything else, or they'd have just done it by now.
