Recently I booked a Qantas fare on the net for a return flight from SYD to AUK.
The fare I got had me going over in V class and returning in L class and the prices of each leg were only a few dollars different with the total return cost being less than A$700.
Post flights I received 40 status credits for the V class fare and 20 status credits for the L class fare.
The status credits received would appear to indicate that V class is full fare economy whilst L class is discount economy, but I had thought that both were discount economy. Is my conclusion correct?
Prior to the completion of the booking and the receipt of the e-ticket itinerary email there was no indication as to which fares were in which classes.
Can someone tell me how to determine which fares are in which classes at booking time as for the few dollars extra I would have booked the second leg in V class for the extra 20 status credits.
