I've recently joined the "flown in J on all aircraft types in QF fleet" club and thought I'd share my rankings on the cabins:

1: A380 (by far the best IMO)
2: 744 nose section
3: 744 upper deck
4: A330 (300/200) international
5: 744 aft downstairs cabin
6: A330 Domestic (EBM/N)
7: 763 Dreamtime
8: 763 Millennium / A330 Domestic (EBO/P)
9: 73H (not fitted with AVOD on my flight)
10: 734

I find it hard to separate Millennium 767 with EBO/P A330 as I prefer the Millennium seat (dislike the fake 2-2-2 layout on the A330) but I do enjoy the AVOD on the A330.

Anyone else agree / disagree?

Where have you sat on the A330? I'm flying HKG-SYD in a few weeks on QF88, and have never flown J on this type of aircraft before. Seatguru/expert aren't much help, so have gone for 3E pretty much to avoid someone crawling over me.

And to save my off-topic post, I agree with your ordering, as far as the types/cabins I've flown. I haven't flown nose J cabin on the 744 (am SG, so no Emerald City for me on either Boeing or Airbus jets), but after looking at your list, I'd like to try it, maybe next year when I fly on same PNR with work colleague who is WP.

I'd pretty much agree with the list in the order given by the OP.

On the A330 I select the centre seats as they have access without climbing over someone - so good choice :)

Out of curiosity why EBM/N over Dreamtime?

Seat Pitch in Dreamtime is better, however is the overall experience in EBM/N better?

A330 is brighter and more modern and far superior IFE - though you're right seat pitch in Dreamtime is super and it is a comfy seat so it's a tough one - but generally I personally prefer the A330 interior to the older 767.

Assuming the 744 is fitted out with the old Skybeds (as most of the fleet still is), I would swap 2 and 3 around as row 16 upstairs is the best spot in the old 744 J IMHO. I would say that row 13 on the A380 is the best J in the entire QF fleet.

When I was SG, at T-80 or 24hr checkin (can't remember which) for SIN-LHR or LHS-SIN, some Emerald city seats opened up to me, and Mr Katie and Little Miss (if it was SIN-LHR, they were both PS, if LHR-SIN, we were all SG). My point is just that given the right conditions, whatever they might be, Emerald city can open up to an SG. :p

I agree-row 13 on A380 is best J. The front J cabin is quieter and less through traffic which at night is a boon. Front of that section- row 11 is close to the lounge and snack bar.

I'm on the A330 in J SYD-HKG soon on QF87. At this stage I can only get row 5 aisle in front of the galley. Hopefully more opens up later.

Interesting, why do you say that?

As stated by hopes, there is too much noise and light closer to the nose of the plane (from the lounge). Also, you do not appear to get a much leg room in Row 11 as your feet go into a recess in the bulkhead in front of you when the bed is fully flat.
