Qantas J Sale - where are the seats?

I was browsing SMH and in the corner noticed that there was a J sale on for QF...

So i click the link and look for the sub 5k SYD LAX J fare... I can't find any... i flicked through all the dates...

They just all gone? is it normal for the J tickets to disappear to quickly?

What dates are you looking at? Are you travelling with a minimum two people?

i picked from the date ranges that came up as the cheap fare period.

No I was only searching for 1 pax at the time... does that make a difference?

I looked earlier today and found quite a lot (including J seats on the A380, for those who like that aircraft!). The only problem period that I found was around Christmas.

But you do have to search based on 2 pax; a search for just one pax will show only normal prices. This is because the sale conditions require that at least 2 pax travel together (it is a "companion sale").

I saw the QF J companion fares advertised by Travelscene, and I can enquire via the Travelscene website but not via the QF site.

If these can be booked direct via the QF site I'd prefer to do it that way, but cant see any J sale fares. Looking for SYD - JNB in September /October 2011.

BA has matched the QF J Sale on ba.com ( ends 30th March) but the booking engine there has come out with some amazing results. Can't post via iPhone sadly but I managed to find 2 x J SYD-LHR rtn for $11,998 in Sep/Oct for Shrek and I with 4 x WT+ for the ogre offspring same flights @ $44,000

BTW I saw the LAX fare J advertised for $4999 one way in the Age!!!!

GCC, SYD-JNB for $4999 return, for each passenger (J companion fare) during the periods 16/4/11 to 30/9/11 and 1/12/11 to 31/12/11 only. The sale doesn't apply in October or November. Closes in 3 days.
