Was sitting in Shanghai last Friday and very much looking forward to coming home. About 11am my mobile rings and it is Qantas Hong Kong (current preferred route is KA PVG-HKG QF HKG-BNE) "We're very sorry sir but your QF98 2230 flight is delayed until 0300".
I thanked the guy (after he had confirmed that there was no availability on the earlier SYD flight), it is a nice touch that if they are going to be four and a half hours late that they give you some advance warning.
It did pretty much backfire on Qantas though. As soon as I put the phone down, I called the company TA to get us shifted to another, any other flight. Cathay Pacific came to our rescue, and we willingly swapped across to CX103 instead (willingly until we found that it was an old regional config A330).
QF98 finally dropped by on BNE after 4pm on Saturday - over six and a half hours late,
Did anyone on here get stuck waiting for QF98 on friday? And were you given a reason why?
