Hi All,

Thank God for AFF!

Looking to book a points flight (ideally business) LAX to Syd mid Jan 23.

I get they are rare but I'm seeing no flights from LAX into Syd (or Melb) I'm only seeing Bris.

I have been a regular business points flyer between LAX and Syd for last 3 years (yes even during Covid) has something dramatically changed recently with Qantas flights into Syd & Melb from LAX?

With many Thx :)

And middle of school holidays….
yes, my grand dreams of booking reward flights with the family during holidays quickly came back to reality when I started looking 😆 we'll likely be in a position to have lots-o-points but bugger-all to use them on other than Dash 8's out of PQQ

Thx all - I was more intrigued in that I couldn't find many normal paid flights LAX to Syd - there were only code share with AA. That said I think there was a fault in the Qantas site (which I do find a bit) as I have since found a string QF12's. I think the issue is that i'm currently in the USA and for a LAS>Syd leg it notifies me of transfering to the Qantas US site - and I think there was an issue when that happened.

FYI - I have been very lucky, I originally had a classic points Business LAX>Bris>Syd flight booked (some months ago) for Jan 2 ... but they changed the LAX>Syd flight to one leaving 12 hours later but didn't change the domestic leg - when i rang 2 days ago to solve it the only option was to take an economy seat Jetstar flight ex Bris (even though I could clearly see Qantas flights were avail) - she said something about not having access to those flights !!! Anyway I happened to calmly ask if there were any direct LAX>Syd Business reward seats and ... guess what!... there was one ...same date ... so I'm now on that ...bit of a win. But I wonder do they have spare seats up their sleeve or was I lucky ... or both?
