Hi

I just received in error a letter from Qantas advising me that because of all the flying I have done & in recognition of my loyalty they are extending my gold membership till 31st Oct 09.

I however have 1300 points (100 shy of plat which I will get next month, first time very excited!) My status reassessment occurs 31st Oct 08 and I assumed when I got the letter for QF that they were giving me plat early. Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky.

Any thoughts, I was thinking if I should call them & ask them if they were mean't to send me plat, although I doubt I would be successful?

I wouldn't worry about it - on several occasions, the same thing has happened to me. They always seem to get it right come anniversary time...

Many posted experiences seem to indicate that to get a status level with Qantas, you need to actually earn the required SC's ... 1,400 for WP.

SO in this case the letter is not a "mistake" as you have Qualified for SG until 31 Oct 09 ...

... enjoy WP. :D

They generally try to get the new cards a bit before the anniversary date, and as you were still gold this is likely the correct card to send at this time. Once you achieve platinum they will send the platinum card to you.
