Qantaslink have been using Alliance Fokker 100's up to 4 times daily on the ROK - BNE route for most of the year now.
The only reason i have heard for this is they don't have the capacity. Surely After 12 months they would of had time to find a solution - either up the dash capacity or maybe even use mainline 737's.

Just seems odd to continue this practice (fair enough chartering for a short term issue however it seems almost permanent now.) as Qantas really dosent have much control over the on board product (from what i've heard isnt up to scratch on Alliance). Not to mention they wouldnt be making as much money on route as Alliance have to make their cut.

How much longer will it go on for?
Thoughts?

QF's attitude to ROK and its people can be likened to a flip flop, it would rather put planes and people into new ports with less competition such as increased mining ops and WA.

think they’re continuing to have deliveries of the Q400, so presumably until they have them all delivered. Just because you order something 12 months ago doesn’t mean you get the first delivery, there could be a long line in front of Qantas :p

I dont think aircraft are an issue, there is always a spare in BNE, although a recent ATR conversion course was apparently full of Dash 8 rated pilots......

I actually don't mind the Alliance planes. Nice comfy seats and very quiet, Alliance crew are definitely different to Qantaslink but are still ok.

Greg.
