Hey there,

I'm in my first 8 Months as a QF FF member, I’ve currently done 39 QF domestic Y flights (45163mi). Nothing compared to most of you!!
I have a return J Perth-Singapore-Frankfurt booked where I will become Platinum after the first 2 sectors.

Q: Is there any benefit in doing a status run of 225sc before this flight? (lounge access etc)
Q: Is there any Emerald/first class lounges I can access in Frankfurt?

AL

Thanks in advanced

Frankfurt was a shared lounge last time I was there. The OWE benefits are few

the JAL lounge QF uses is nothing special. I'm not sure if there are separate J & F areas but the lounge I used when flying BA J last year had pretty mediocre food offerings, but that could have been the time of day.

I think that you'll be fine using the Gold lounge benefits in SIN. (as you are that close to platinum you must be gold) The QF J lounge there is acceptable. I used the FRA lounge last year and it was the JAL lounge. Food offerings are basic snacks, antipasto from memory, maybe some basic sandwiches. I don't think it is available for arrivals. There must also be a lounge available for QP/Gold members and it is possibly the same one but I'm not sure. One thing is certain the JAL lounge is better than the CX lounge they shared previously.

As for getting platinum early about the only thing you'll definitely miss out on is the status bonus points - 25%. Probably not worth it.

As the earlier posters say, the FRA lounge is shared. Adequate - and always sparsely populated on the several occasions I've used it. Staff are accommodating. F&B offerings basic.
Overall, quiet and comfortable but nothing out of the ordinary.
