Looks like a 6 month extension.
Definite, now published - for the Passes and also for QP members:
Qantas Club memberships and complimentary lounge invitations
Due to lounge closures, we’ll be applying an automatic six-month extension to paid Qantas Club memberships with an active membership on 23 March 2020.
We’re also extending most complimentary lounge invitations by six months.

Just received the following email:

Dear_____
We understand your travel plans may have been impacted this year, and it continues to be a challenging time for everyone, so we are giving eligible Qantas Club members extended access to all membership benefits for another six months.

This extension is available for Qantas Club members who have an active membership as at 23 September 2020, originally purchased with a credit or debit card, or by redeeming Qantas Points.

There's no need to register or contact our call centre, your Qantas Club membership will be automatically extended by the end of September 2020 and you can view your updated details by visiting My Account at qantas.com or the Qantas App. As we will not be issuing new Qantas Club membership cards, we recommend you download the Qantas App where you can view and use your digital card for eligible lounge access.*

If you have purchased an Annual Guest Card, this will also be extended for a further six months. If the Annual Guest Card membership year ends between September 2020 and August 2021, your existing guest card can be used to gain entry to the lounge for the additional six months.

For more information, including detailed questions and answers, visit the Qantas website.

When they say they're extending "most" lounge passes it's clear the annual lifetime silver passes are not included as I've only got one for this year right now.

In the FAQs on that webpage, Qantas says that QC members should call if they want to discuss other options including refunds.

Has anyone tried to ask for a refund? If you live in Melbourne, for example, I think you may have a case to ask for one.

Yeah :( QF's reasoning was that all silver members who qualify annually (through flying) are getting their membership extended and will get another lounge pass for free under that scheme.

Those who have qualified for Lifetime Silver will get nothing 'extra' in terms of lounge passes as they would have qualified anyway. (they go get the bonus SCs)

Extending complimentary lounge invitations is a good move and kudos to Qantas for this!

Was there a limit on the number of complimentary passes that Qantas was extending by 6 months? I had 6 passes (earned from Points Club and credit cards) and all valid as of 23/09/20 but only 2 of them were extended by 6 months.

The 2 highlighted in yellow below were originally due to expire on the 31/08/21 and has been extended by 6 months, however the top 4 have not.

I have similar experience. Only my recent LTS pass has been extended. Points Club and credit card passes have not been extended.

Qantas may be extending the Qantas Club by 6 months, but at the end of this period I will not be renewing after 30 years on card use. The Card was ok when I was working and flying for work and holidays when living on the East Coast . BUT now I have been living in Perth on the West Coast for the last 12 years, I really don't get to use my card a lot except to fly to visit relatives twice a year. Since moving to the West I haven't used the Qantas Club when I have flown to the USA Cathay Pacific, to Canada with Cathay Pacific. To Singapore and Beijing with Singapore Airlines, to Europe with Singapore Airlines. to New Zealand with Air New Zealand. All these are flights pretty much Direct flights from or have a one stop, and Ialso travel with friends who are not Club members, also it allows for a stay at the stop. To fly to most of these via Qantas involves a flight to Sydney or Melbourne and onwards with some flight having 2 stops. On an overseas trip cannot see any reason to have a stay at overnight in Sydney or Melbourne .So after 10 years of flying overseas I don't see any value in the card for use on a domestic flight for half an hour in the Club for a sandwich and a coffee. Buy not using tne Qantas Card on overseas trips we have a better time in the terminals and a greater choice in food and drinks. As overseas trips are off for now, spending $500+ per year just to visit the Club for domestic flights when WA opens up is a no brainer. $500 per year will buy food and drinks and will still have a fare wack of change.Fly Safe Vic
