Over the past month, I've received a flurry of emails from Qantas promoting:

Credit Cards
Qantas Cash
Points Transfers
Flight Specials
Qantas Wine
Qantas Insurance
Discounts on Points Store Redemptions

I don't live in Australia. The address in my QF profile is not in Australia.
Yet I receive emails about products which only Australians would/can buy.

Is there a way to opt-out of marketing for specific Qantas products? [phone agents say no]
Some offers I want to receive, yet others I'll never buy no matter how hard QF try. I'd like to opt out of non-relevant offers without opting out of the entire communications system.

My kids who can barely put a sentence together are receiving emails on flight specials to London, how to earn points at Woolworths etc.
I get the sense that the QF CRM is not sophisticated and could do with an update.

Posting here so that someone at QF can see it and save the company a coughload of cash in marketing wastage.

Not sure if it will kill off everything, but after logging in:

Good luck!

You can set preferences on the types of email you get in you FF account profile, however it doesn't always seem to do much.

I don't care about sport, nor do I drink alcohol, and I have marked the appropriate check boxes for such in my profile. I still get the odd email from QFF about those topics.
I have my woolworths earn directed to Qantas. Qantas knows this as Woolworths sends points to that account. Yet, every time the quarterly WWD > QF Points conversion is approching, I get emails from Qantas telling me how to set Woolworths earn to QFF.

So yes, there there is a way to opt-out of marketing for some specific Qantas products, but it doesn't always work.

I opted out of everything except

Your points balance and news
Flight specials, news and updates
Information about your membership

I still get DSC offers, but I avoid most of the marketing. I am thinking of dropping flight specials, as I seem to be getting a barrage of those at the moment and really not interested.

I've also noticed that the flight specials emails no longer include any actual prices. You have to click through to the website for that.

I can't work out whether this change is because they want more people to click through to the QF website, or if it's because someone tried to sue Qantas for incorrectly displaying a price in an email.

In other areas of the world there are flight special emails that show HIGHER prices than what is available, and the email open/sales rates are through the roof.
