I want to go to hawaii in a couple of months and cant make my mind up to go qantas j class or jetstar j class.
QF is just a 767, no skybed so is it really worth the extra $1000's over JQ's millenium seats???
Is the food and service on QF far more outstanding than JQ on the Honolulu route???
please help me decide :D

Travelled Jetstar J class to Hawaii last July-no complaints. IMO the price differential is not worth it. The money you save you can spend on Mai-Tai's!! Best seats (on the current configeration A320) if travelling alone 2D or if a couple 1E&F.

The extra $1000 flying QF J class or JQ Starclass could get you an extra 4-5 nights in a pretty good hotel, or an extra night in a really really fancy hotel.....

Things is it isn't an extra $1,000 to fly on QF J - more like $6,000...

For only a 10 hour flight I too am considering Hawaii some time in the next 18 months and am likely to fly JQ *class or (if they start to earn SCs with Virgin) Hawaiian.

To start off there is no J class on JQ. Just because they are marketing it as J doesn't make it so. It is the equivalent to an International premium economy - no more.

That being said the QF J service is nice but the seat, IFE and aircraft is a load of old rubbish.

QF has lost all of my business to HNL and I go there generally twice a year. $10,000 return is just not acceptable on any airline but especially outrageous for one providing an utterly antiquated product.

Remember this is what they are providing. Yes it already looked old and beaten up back in 2003 and those seats have not been changed. JetPhotos.Net Photo » VH-OGM (CN: 25575) Qantas Boeing 767-338(ER) by Anthony Jackson

In fact QF has lost nearly all of my business to everywhere

I agree with you mainblack - the Jetstar "Business Class" is not a proper J class seat, it is better than Y on JQ, but not a proper J Class experience until we see more seat pitch, width, better inflight entertainement, better food and Lounge access.
