I'm looking into the available of partner classic rewards from QANTAS partner SriLankan Airlines (UL), and I note that I can't even find the SriLankan Airlines home city of Colombo (CMB) in the search bar on the QANTAS web site. So, how is one supposed to book said fares?

While I understand that partner classic rewards aren't available on all dates or routes, which routes are able to book, and which ones are we unable to book? It makes trying to plan the use of your points a hassle when you don't even know what you can and can't use it on.

Edit: Corrected the airline IATA code.

SriLankan IATA code is UL, S7 is a Russian airline currently kicked out of OneWorld.
If you want CMB as a the origin point you need to call QF (I think it's because QF can't handle the local currency on the website).

If you want to search for fares, an easy enough way to get around that is by putting the first search line in the multi city tool as SYD-MEL on a date prior to your CMB departure. It's crude, and a bit of a pain, but at least it populates

I stand corrected. I'll edit my post to reflect the correction. Thank you.

I see. So, how would one check for availability of rewards flighs on UL before calling to book? Outside of paid tools like Expert Flyer, (Edit: or using the multi-city tool) I'm not aware of any other convenient way to check.

Edit: clarity.

1. Go to the multi city tool

2. Make the first route something QFF can handle the origin for (you could try SYD/MEL to CMB for example)

3. On the next line of the multi city tool you'll then be able to add in CMB to whichever destination you want

4. Once you've found out availability call QFF to book

Update: You can search for reward availability through Sri Lankan Airlines web site, but you need to create an account first. You'll get an error when searching because you don't have enough points/miles to book the flight, but you'll still be able to search for it. However, you can only search 7 days at a time. Every search needs to be re-entered from scratch - Departure city, destination city, dates, one way/return, flexibility in dates, redemption/revenue fare, etc.

It's not possible to search for Sri Lankan Airlines redemptions through Expert Flyer.

Just remember that even f a redemption shows up via the UL website for UL members, it doesn't automatically follow the same reward seat will be available via QF.
