is it possible to book 1st class seats with qantas frequent flyer points to America & Europe. and if so is there an easy way to find available award flights to suit our requirements

Yes - but the irony is to avoid Qantas flights as much as possible as qantas are very stingy at releasing First Class award ticket seats.

You will find much better availability on other oneworld airlines such as American Airlines - the best First Class award flight availability. Cathay Pacific is not bad but it is getting harder to find a flight that actually has a first class cabin. Also, British Airways aren't bad for First award availability..

Welcome to AFF jadeqld112, yes it is possible but they can be hard to come by. Best to search online once you have logged into your account, otherwise give Qantas Frequent Flyer a call.

The Qantas website (once you log in) has a section where you can book frequent flyer flights. It's a good way of playing around to see what is available for what amount of points, without having to commit to buying. The FF center is the Qantas Frequent Flyer call center, but they'll charge you 2500 points for a booking, and you can get the QF/AA/BA flights via the website anyway.

You can however have lengthy discussions with them about availability before/without actually committing as they often see flights (eg CX) that you do not see on the web site.

Often it is worth the 2500 points.

If the poster is going to redeem points for what seems to be more than one first class ticket, I doubt if spending an extra 2500 will be a worry!!
