Qantas Premier Titanium card

This is good to know since the 3.25 would be stackable with the Semi frequent 3ppd promotions that now and then are running on QF hotels

Say on a $5k hotel booking we are talking 30k+ points. Happy days
QF hotels should get you 13.5 points per dollar if booked on triple points promotion and with PC+. If stacked with the 3.25 points you’d get to 16.75 points per dollar. You would get 83,750 points on a $5,000 booking. Not that I could imagine wanting to spend that on a hotel.

I’ve got one close to double that coming up… but I don’t want to forgo the hotel status for the QFF points! 😆

What does PC+ mean please ?

Annual Fee Prorated Refund (sort-of)

If it isn't known yet what you could do if you're looking to churn is apply, meet spending criteria for bonus points. Once you get the bonus points + use the free travel credit, call customer service and ask to change your card to the one with the lowest fee and then they'll give you a pro-rated refund of the $1200 annual fee. Then cancel or keep the lowest fee card which is $99 a year.

You're right !

I didn't even realise that QF Hotels on a triple promo was 9 ppd lol i must be getting rusty but yeah its because I haven't booked using QF Hotels for ages (usually book via my agent). But I think that will at least somewhat change as I look to take advantage of these triple promos. There's actually one on now until end of the month.

Even with standard PC I am looking at 11.25 then 14.5 if stacked with the titanium card.

Does anyone know if a QF Hotels purchase/booking would be eligible under six months interest free with the Titanium "first Qantas purchase" offer ?

The T&Cs don't seem to mention it but nor do they specifically exclude it.

Cheers

Have you seen this page and notes?

You may get lucky, but I suspect that it's not eligible (my formatting added, below):
A Qantas Purchase under this Special Promotion is any of the following when paying with your Qantas Premier credit card: flights booked directly through qantas.com and Qantas Contact Centres; Qantas flights booked through selected travel agents and processed with Qantas being identified to the card scheme as the relevant merchant; Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Club membership, joining and annual fees; Qantas Gift Vouchers, and purchases from the Qantas Rewards Store. This Special Promotion is only applicable to your first Qantas Purchase. Please note, Qantas Purchases for the purpose of this offer excludes purchases other than those specified above; in particular, it does not include (but is not limited to) purchases made with Jetstar or Qantas Holidays or shopping.qantas.com.
Cheers,
Matt.

Just caught up on the 16 pages of this. Thinking of coming back to QFF from AAdvantage given how dogshit AAHotels is now and how difficult and complicated it is to earn without their credit card.

shopping.qantas.com just seems to be the direct linked to 3rd parties though?

Rewards Store has all the apple devices etc you can pay with points or cash.

Did anyone conclusively test this stuff, and for hotels? Also wondering if PC status credits get the 20% if you pay the taxes/fees on this card.

How does it also work if you have a companion card and book under the same PNR from one of the two?

Definitely no 20% bonus on CR bookings, even where you pay the taxes/fees with the card. QF marketed and operated revenue fares only.

Not sure I understand your question on companion card and booking… but the primary cardholder and nominated additional cardholder are both registered with full QFF details up front, and so I’d expect that either credit card could be used to make the bookings and still get the benefits. This said, I’ve only booked and paid for flights using my (the primary) card, thus far, so can’t confirm from experience.

Cheers,
Matt.

Peeps with the card- did they want your tax returns?

I mean most people want to reduce that number as much as possible.

Yes they did ask for mine, but maybe because I'm self-employed. They asked for the last two years. This was about a month ago so I sent them 2022 and 2023.

Guys does anyone know if you can put this card into a negative balance for purchases larger than your credit limit ?

Say for example if your credit limit is $50k and you want to spend $70k on it etc

I've done this a couple of times with Amex and was OK (and obtained points on the full transaction etc) but this card is new for me so just wanted to suss out what the go is

Cheers

I've not tried it on this card, but like you, have done so elsewhere in the past. This is the only relevant reference I can find in the terms:

Credit balance If Your Account has a credit balance (for example because You overpay an amount which is due to Us or a refund is processed to Your Account), We will not pay interest on that credit balance. We may pay the credit balance to You by sending You a cheque in the post, paying it into another account You hold with Us or in some other way (unless it is unclaimed money) but will take reasonable steps to provide notice to You if We do so.

So I guess there is a level of risk that they would attempt to return funds to you, but I expect it's not something they act on quickly. It thought they might also limit Rewards earning to the card limit in one transaction, but I couldn't find anything that states this.

Give them a call?

Cheers,
Matt.

Hi guys,

Sorry for all the questions, still getting used to the card!

So what I was wondering, was this, with Qantas purchases being 3.25ppd uncapped, does this "eat" into your domestic monthly allowance ?

Or are they independent ?

For example.

Say I spend $15k during a statement period in which I have already spent $10k domestically

Will I earn $15k * 3.25 = 48,750 points for the Qantas spend
Then $10k * 1.25 = 12,500 points for the domestic spend
Coming to 61,250 for the statement period

Or is the calculation done some other way ?

Cheers

Looking at a statement where I exceeded the domestic 10K as well as having significant additional QF spend (>20K of QF on the same statement), I’m afraid the numbers suggest it’s only the QF additional points at 2ppd that are uncapped, together with any International spend at 2ppd.

Domestic is 1.25ppd up to 10K, and then runs at 0.5ppd, regardless of whether Qantas spend or not.

Using your example, I’d expect you would earn:

10K at 1.25ppd = 12,500 points +
15K at 0.5ppd = 7,500 points +
15K bonus at 2ppd = 30,000 points
= 50,000 points total.

Cheers,
Matt.

Hey dairyfloss, what's the best way to contact the concierge about booking a ticket that I was only able to price via a call book with QF directly in order to the get the 10% discount? Thanks!
