I'm flying with my father on QF12 departing LAX this Tues night on a 744 which was an equipment change from the A380.

My problem is QF have allocated me 67E/F (vomit) on the 744 when I had 71D/E on the A380 (I was going to give the great 71D to Dad!).

Called customer service...got nowhere (very rude). Ask for supervisor who was more polite but gave me the same reading (seats/equipment never guaranteed etc).

The A380 flight was to be a first for both Dad and myself...planned the whole trip around it...but lost my plane and lost my seats.

Anything else I can do?

Given the operation change required, there might not be a loot that Qantas could have done. What status do you have with them?

Mind you, seats will open up closer to time, so keep a check on the web. Of course, trying to squeeze an A380 onto a 747 means your relevant seats are quite different to start with.

You don't have status? Are you able to pre-allocate a seat from your booking on the QF website?

Other thing you can do is keep calling QF until you get someone that may want to help you. Good luck.

My MEL-SIN flight on Boxing Day has also been rescheduled from an A380 to a 747 but thanks to my status I was pre-allocated 40A from the original 80K.
