Qantas have released flights on some domestic NZ routes for 98c plus taxes!!

That's 98c in NZD!

Aaah, the benefit of real competition :)

Amazing how this just about coincides with Virgin Blue planning to fly domestically in NZ.

Don't worry, I'm sure they're still making money from the Fuel Fines!

Definitely an interesting tactic from QF. It will be interesting to see what availability is like.

OT: Congrats on 747 posts Odoherty. ;)

Which routes? I couldn't see anything on qantas.co.nz...

I'm presuming it is the 48 hour sale.

Some routes are $NZ38. The fare breakdown is as follows:

Fare Charges/Taxes Total Price
0.98 + 37.01 for 1 adult = 37.99 (NZD)

I believe there is also a credit card surcharge for domestic NZ flights (as well as the departure taxes in certain airports that have to be paid when leaving)

The listing of sale fares in this promo are:

48 hours. 13,000 seats. Get packing.

Seats on sale until midnight Monday 10 September 2007, unless
sold out prior.

Auckland to:
Wellington one way from $38
Christchurch one way from $38
Queenstown one way from $87

Christchurch to:
Auckland one way from $38
Queenstown one way from $49
Rotorua one way from $59

Queenstown to:
Christchurch one way from $49
Auckland one way from $87
Rotorua one way from $87

Rotorua to:
Christchurch one way from $59
Queenstown one way from $87

Wellington to:
Auckland one way from $38

These one-way special fares are valid for travel from 15
October until 30 November 2007.

Prices include all ticket surcharges and taxes.

Ahh, that sale. I already posted about that on Flyertalk sales thread. I thought it was more something like the Norfolk Air $1 sale. Didn't see the bit about before taxes before.

There is no speific CC surcharge when booking on www.Qantas.co.nz .

Great deal. I have managed to snag AKL-CHC Nov 8 for NZ$37.99 and CHC-ZQN Nov 9 for NZ$48.99. I should also book ZQN-CHC Nov 12 for NZ$48.99 while it is still available.
