Last year I was able to book two business seats Heathrow/Melbourne with China Airways for 300 points. There seems very limited flights these days on the Q rewards page, any clues?

I recall reading in a recent thread that CI has slimmed down the number of classic reward business class seats it releases to QF. That may explain why there’s less availability with them than last year.

On CI, or all airlines? Classic reward availability to LHR is always a little tricky, but as long as you’re looking outside of peak season you should be able to find something (with a bit of flexibility).

Try using the multi-city tool and stopping somewhere in Asia like SIN, HKG, BKK, NRT/HND, ICN (or even TPE). Breaking up the journey like this often helps to find availability where there isn’t direct availability from Aus.

Try also using multi city through Qantas Partner connection hubs.

For example searching MEL - HKG then HKG - LHR would look for reaults for CX (sometimes other airlines too). It may also not necessarily all be travelling in 1 day.

I'd consider a day stopover personally where as the booking engine naturally wouldn't show it.
