Hi,

i have an award flight from ADL-SYD-LAX-JFK-LAX-MEL-ADL for May/June this year and i need to book a child fare, i rang Qantas directly, who gave me a quote of $1851.00 for the childs fare inc all taxes, etc.

i don know whether to just book this fare or risk it and wait to see if Qantas realase a sale?!.......

bnroz,

Which ever way you do it you have a 50:50 chance of being right OR wrong :!:

My inclination would be to take the fare unless you are confident of a much better fare coming from a sale. A small price improvement is not worth the worry.

I think the sub-$1000 USA return fares probably won't be seen again for a little while (at least on Qantas) as the travel sector is starting to recover.

The average SYD-JFK-SYD sale fare has been in the $1400-1500 region (still a hell of a lot cheaper than it used to be!) so by the time you throw in your ADL-SYD-ADL sectors, $1850 isn't too bad.

They still often exist on Qantas ex USA.
