Just checking if anyone has had recent experience in SC earning with CX Business Light fares which book into I fare?

Seems CDIJP fares earn SCs but I imagine CX Business Light will be in Discount Business earning?

Just considering route to Japan trip
QF $7k
CX $5k
with similar SC earns after including the HKG to CTS leg

The discount business / business distinction doesn't exist for partner bookings iirc.

What's important is the fare class letter, not the name of the fare. I do believe last time I checked all Cathay business fares are eligible for earning as Business. What fare class are you trying to book?

What route?
$2000 is too much to give to QF
As above all depends on fare booking class (a letter). QF does not always match fare name to QF fare earnings 100%. Depends on the airline and even route. Look at MH for one of the worst earnings

I did BKK-HKG-AKL return last month on a 'Light' fare and got 400SCs.
I would have credited to AA, but I needed (or, rather Madame needed) the additional OWE baggage allowances.
