Hi everyone.

I am flying QANTAS Economy to London Heathrow next year and planning on flying QANTAS. What say do I have when booking my ticket in where I sit. I am not a Qantas Club member and I am only a bronze level frequent flyer. Also is there an advantage in booking my flight earlier or later. If anyone has a really really really good reason for me to fly with another airline can you please post it here as well. I am not a very frequent long haul flyer and have not tried many long haul airlines. Also my ticket will most likely be a Sale fare or a Red E-deal.

I would greatly appreciate any help.

When you book, you can request a seat assignment at that time as long as the flight has not reached the limit of pre-allocation. Just ask a QF agent to do the assignment

If you have no particular allegiance to a carrier due to FF miles or similar, I would hunt around for the best fares since QF is often not one of the cheapest. There is not a huge difference between the major carriers

One of the benefits of QF is that it is a one stop single plane service to LHR; there are other 1 stop services such as BA, Emirates, Singapore, Malaysian, Thai et al.

Are you saying I would have to get a travel agent working in conjunction with QANTAS to pre assign my seat.

Well, you don't have to use a travel agent at all, but regardless, you or the agent will need to phone Qantas and request a seat
