Hi all,
In a coincidental conversation with an acquaintance today, I was told about the 18 months qantas status hold while on parental leave. I was downgraded from platinum last year and in only a week I’ll be downgraded again to silver - an even bigger gut punch! Im still currently on parental leave and my babe is now 8.5 months old, however the criteria is you must apply within 6 months of the baby’s birth. I’m so gutted that, had I known about this, I could have my gold status held for another 18 months (especially because I’ll likely never get there again now I’ve got kids and restricted travel ability).
I get that criteria is criteria, but always worth a shot for an appeal (I have the time!) any advice on the best channel/line of inquiry to take (the call centre staff I spoke to this evening didn’t seem to know what I was even talking about beyond the script on their page) and/or know of any cases where discretion has been approved?
