Qantas to fly Brisbane to Proserpine

Good on Qantas for launching more domestic Intra QLD routes however it's operated by a Q400

The route is also operated by JQ and VA and I wouldn't be picking QF over the others given Jetstar operates A320's (exit row or row 1) or Virgin operates 737's (business class or economy X) both providing a much better product. Can also get spirits (paid) on both to kick start the holiday ;)

In time for school holidays.

Proserpine airport ie. “Whitsunday Coast airport”……..

Some days VA Business is cheaper than QF Economy, many other days it's on a tiny bit more for VA J. I know that I'd much prefer VA Business on a 737 over a QF Dash 8 in Economy but each to their own.

QF Economy prices over the next month and a bit.

VA Business prices over the same period.

PPP airport is owned by the council and the representatives at the launch event gave me the model plane from the cake decoration even though I pointed out to them at the start of the welcoming party that it wasn't the Dash 8 which QF is operating - I was seated in an empty row (the icing on the cake?) on the PPP-BNE flight

Noticed from the November 2021 inflight magazine that PPP is still showing as an orange dot and hasn't been updated to be half red like HTI or MKY...

Maybe QF know something that we don’t know (as yet). 😉

It's weird because it's clearly been updated recently but still shows routes like AYQ-CNS, East Coast to Broome and even up to POM (none of which have operated in over 12 months), meanwhile they've added routes like Norfolk Island and Perth to Hobart. They've got this much better version on their website anyway:
