Qantas Ultimate to Explorer??

Hi all,

Is it possible to switch from the Qantas Ultimate card to the Explorer? Will AMEX even consider this since it's a completely different program?

The reason is we have got our QFF bonus points and the ongoing spend isn't going to get us where we need to for our QFF redemption (will need another banks CC bonus offer for both my wife and I), so I like the flexibility of the Explorer, especially with the options of transferring to SPG.

Yes, I am in your situation (I have the Ultimate card), and the earn rate no longer suits me since the changes were introduced earlier this year.

I asked about moving to the Explorer and the call centre advised me to fill out and application, but note that there is a tick box to indicate a transfer of your existing card/balance to the Explorer. Be aware that if you currently hold other AMEX issued cards you may not be eligible for the bonus points (if that's what you're hoping to score during the switch).
