I did receive emails for my flight from Hong Kong to Sydney to use my points and hard earned to upgrade to Business Class, no problem I have lots of point to burn.
So I used the maximum allowable and then set the details of my cc card, no worries.

Now as an elderly person I have learnt to always read the fine print, where it is promulgated that no points are awarded if I was to be successful in the upgrade.

So I very quickly deleted my offer.

Just saying.

I would be surprised if you didn’t get the points awarded for the base fare? The upgraded business class points aren’t normally awarded however.
