Qantas - v - AA Award Bookings

Happy New Year to all
I am a Platinum QF Member with over 800000 QF points
I recently joined AA so have no AA points - I was told it is more effective to redeem points by booking as an AA passenger on QF flights but how do I use my QF prequent flyer points to do this?

Hi, Welcome to AFF

If you have points in QFF then you can only redeem through Qantas. What you can do is for future earnings, credit your flights to an AA account rather than a Qantas account.
