Qantas Voucher and Name Change?

So i had a one way ticket with Qantas for me plus 2 friend which i booked and paid for which i had to cancel. It came to $777.00 in a voucher which i got.

Under the T&C's it says no name changes and when i go to use the voucher it wants me to book any flight for 3 people etc.

As i wont be travelling with these people again, i was just going to use the $777.00 towards a return asia ticket or something. Do you think there is any leeway in this or do i just lose that money if i dont travel with them? I just made Platinum, so would that help at all?

By the rules, there is little you can do.

The booking can only be reused for three people with the same names.

What was the cancel/rebooking fee for the original booking? 3 x that could easily remove a significant chunk.

To get any value out of the voucher you could book a flight for yourself and the other two and have them no-show while you fly. You may get $200 value that way.

I would not advocate booking domestic travel for three people and have others take the place of "these people".
