In another episode of airlines getting awards for a product that isn't in service yet (thanks Lufthansa, very cool), Qantas took home the 'Passenger Comfort' category from the 2024 Crystal Cabin awards - link here for the other award winners: Revealed: The 2024 Crystal Cabin Award Winners

While I've never really heard of the Crystal Cabin awards before, I still really don't understand the value any of these awards give to a consumer - however, I completely get their benefit for the airline (marketing) and the award-giver ($$$).

Regardless, Qantas' re-styled galley is now an award winner

Would suggest that some of those using the wellbeing centre wouldn't be feeling too well if they manage to find a stray air pocket during the flight….

And that may be the perfect excuse for the airline to say "too bad, so sad, we can't do 'wellness zone' because of safety, so we'll fill the space up some other way".

Possibly not the gang from Qantas ...

My suggestion for that was that they share the space between the Y seats - it may not be much for them individually, but every bit counts…

The Simple Flying article said it was Diehl Aviation so I assume that's who took home the award, rather than Qantas.

Judging from the renderings and seat maps, it's a galley space which is completely unusable for seats anyway. So all they're doing is putting a marketing spin on dead space.

I'm guessing here, but it's entirely possible that QF's A350-1000s are of the NPS variant, with an extra 4 inches of cabin width over current A350s. This would allow for 18.5 inch-wide seats, which, in terms of seat specs, would be on par with JLs 2-4-2 787s in both pitch and width.

Whenever I see these types of awards, I always think of the Frontline episode where the team spend the afternoon filling out voting forms from TV Week magazine. Jan, the Publicist, encourages them all to use the other hand when their writing hand tires.
