Hey guys,

Anybody have any experience with using the Premier lounge in DPS?

I was rather unpleasantly surprised to learn that a WP flying on a classic award J* starclass ticket was not allowed access to the Premier Lounge in DPS.

Luckily I had a priority pass card (thanks Citibank!) so we had some way of getting into the lounge (not that it was even really worth it... what a dump!)

Does anybody know if the front desk clerk was correct?

I've tried googling the answer but to no avail...

Thanks,

I was there last night as well!

To be fair, the Premier lounge set up currently is temporary while the new one is built, so certain to be below par.

I was WP flying JQ on an QF award economy ticket and already knew I wouldn't have access to the Premier lounge so was prepared to sit it out in the terminal with my wife.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with the food and drink on offer to the general public at DPS, both in quality and price. Much better than anticipated, and better than a lot of other airports I've been to!

I was there last year and asked the same question. I did know the answer in advance but just wanted to be sure( they said no) . Glancing in the lounge it looked very full, so not sure that we missed much

I think the clerk was correct according to the rules.
Lounges | Jetstar

Lounge access is only available for Business Max or Economy Fax fares (regular Business on JQ doesn't get you lounge access). And I believe the QF Award ticket is treated in the lowest (ie Business only access)... so no COS benefits.

And then the WP (ie Qantas elite/Qantas Club) won't help you out in an associated lounge.

I probably would have asked at checkin - where is the lounge for business class passengers?

To start to differentiate between paid business and award (or upgrade) business is difficult. I was shot down on here suggested that an AA Frequent Flyer booking an award flight using AA miles on QF in business class should calm down as his/her meal choice wasn't available.

MelUSer - did you read that the OP was on Jetstar, AND Jetstar does not provide lounge access to their business class passengers (unless you purchase their Max package)

Or if there is a QANTAS OPERATED lounge open. Which there is not at DPS

Is there a time line on completion of this new lounge?
