We're continuing our Australian travel and have booked 11 days in Tassie over Easter next year. I'm sure that it will change but we were able to book a direct BNE-HBA flight! During booking it showed zero SCs for the Qantaslink flight and is still showing that. I found an old thread that I couldn't add to about this happening previously. For those who are able to/willing to book have you seen this same issue? Is it just a system glitch or a COVID enhancement?

I would suspect it is a System Glitch. Going back 25 years, I have never not received credit for a QFlink (or one of its predecessor's) flight.

Such a radical change going unannounced would certainly set the cat amongst the pigeons.

Is that a new route? Did QFLink fly direct HBA/BNE before?

As far as I know, yes to new and no to previously. We could fly JQ direct to HBA but not QF. No direct flights available coming home, except JQ. All via just about every city in Oz. I love some of the options that are 10 plus hours.

Our return flight from Canberra was changed a few weeks back (again). Booked onto a 14.5 hour saga back to to BNE. It was an evening departure to Sydney, then an overnight stay in Sydney before flight up to BNE in the morning. The CSR and I had a good chuckle when I suggested an alternative :). Just why does the system do this?

Wow that's actually exciting and great for me personally, I can't see it in QF's schedules, what dates are you flying? Assuming they are using a 717?

Down on March 26 but the direct down seemed to be every day that we looked

QF1575/6 is the new B717 service operating BNE-HBA and return 4 days/week from 20/12/20 to early March 2021, then reducing to 2 days/week until the end of the month

Great - thank you very much, found it - and some GREAT fares loaded in as well! Booking a few flights right now given Tasmania is open for business shortly!

I'm surprised this new flight hasn't come out anywhere as news....even on AFF.

Such a nice alternative to Jetstar as well.

Hijacking this thread sorry but seems to have people in the know about Tassie and QFLink - have they loaded in any more QFLink flights out of LST apart from to MEL?

I think if Tassie opens to NSW we will see QFLink open up LST-SYD (a long retired route), but would they do LST-BNE?
