QantasLink will reinstate direct SYD-WTB flights from 14 February 2022.

The Q400 flights will run double daily on weekdays, and once per day on weekends. Schedule as follows:

  • QF1412 SYD 06:45 - WTB 07:25 (daily except Sunday)
  • QF1411 WTB 07:50 - SYD 10:35 (daily except Sunday)
  • QF1414 SYD 16:45 - WTB 17:25 (daily except Saturday)
  • QF1413 WTB 17:50 - SYD 20:35 (daily except Saturday)

The airline also announced today it will add more frequencies on its CNS-TSV, TSV-MKY, CNS-HID and BNE-ABX routes, and bring back BNE-OOM next winter.

I'm happy this is coming back. Not frequent users of this route but we do have family west of Toowoomba.

To be honest I'm surprised with the capacity on the route.

Nice to see, I like WTB. I'd be even happier if the fares were competitive with BNE. The parking sure is, but for me this one is a points-only route.

Well I went to book flights WTB-SYD in March and looks like the restart has been put off until 1 April.

The usual non-bargain fares of course, although better than they were in 2019. Would be good to see some real competition on this route. Instead we get Bonza to TSV.

Cheers skip

After a QF restart promise of 14 Feb, sudden vanishing of paid flights with no notice or apology, and even more obscurity by QF on future plans, Wellcamp is open for regular SYD/WTB/SYD as at past Monday.

I braved getting up at 0400 to be on the first flight in two years from Sydney, lightly loaded, and we were met with a guard of honour by Flight Academy students, along with iced cupcakes, Qantas baseball caps, and general cheer. It's good to be able to commute again. Cheap flights available in May. OK, not so cheap. $169 compared to $217, but every bit counts. $8/SC if you book this week!

Full credit to the Wagner family (I have no association) for building one of the nicest airports anywhere, and for providing four hours of free parking daily.
