Qantas's website won't sell me tickets from Berlin after 3/6/2011

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to book a trip in the middle of next year from Brisbane to London then Berlin to Brisbane on Qantas. The problem is on the Qantas website, choosing Berlin as the point of origin for the return flight actually chooses Berlin Tegel airport (TXL) which closes on 2/6/2012. Berlin Brandenburg airport (BER) opens the next day on 3/6/2011. The problem is that according to the Qantas website, there are no flights available from Berlin after 2/6/2012 because it thinks TXL is the only airport. The flights I want exist because using a website like Expedia that allows you to choose all airports serving a city I can see the Qantas codeshare on BA that I want.

So my question is how can I fool the Qantas website into seeing flights from BER? I've tried phoning Qantas but they're quoting me at least $100 more than it needs to be. Then on top of that I'd have to try and weazle out of the phone booking fee.

Alternatively, are there any disadvantages to booking through Expedia? How do I go with seat selection, purchasing exit rows and getting vegetarian meals? Will I still get a PNR that I can use to Manage My Booking with the same functionality as booking direct through Qantas? Does it affect my chances of an op-up?

Thanks for any help.

(and apologies for the cross post from FT)
