Not my report, but looking at doing a QR KUL-HKT trip shortly (very well priced if booked on the QR website)

But came across this detailed report of LHR-DOH including the LHR lounge which looks awesome.

Sadly, since the move to the new airport, Qatar's lounges are average at best.

From all accounts the old premium terminal, which the report refers to, was the bee's knees. Qatar moved to the new Hamad airport in late May, from memory, and the lounge situation is all temporary and not at at all adequate. The in-air product, however, should be unchanged and I've also heard wonderful things about it.

Travelled through Doha a couple of weeks ago. Nice airport but not fully functional. Flights with QR we're amazing. Can see how they just won the best business class recently

delays to the fit out of Qatar's new first and business class lounges at Hamad means they won't be open to any guests until the end of July, despite the airline beginning flights from the new airport on May 27.In the meantime, travellers will be accommodated in other lounges at Hamad to which Qatar has arranged access

My first Qatar J trip is not till July 2015. so should be open for me. Though with only 2 hours 15 minute layover I will not have much time to sample it.

I am very much looking forward to trying Qatar J though, as it seems to get universally good reports.

Timing is fortunate for my 18 hr transit through Doha on 22 Sept.
