I've just been comped back to Silver and have complimentary invitation to QC I'm happy to give away. Expiry date 31/8/09.

Good old Qantas, the accompany letter says even though I've not flown enough to automatically retain my silver status, they are extending my membership.

I think it has something to do with the fact that I will have more than enough earned points in August '08 prior to expiry date. Generally I spread my flying out but this year it's worked out the way it has.

The letter does state though in the future I need to meet the conditions.

Is there any criteria for the recipient of your give-away? I'm a just-qualified QF PS (mostly self-funded ) with no QC.

Hello parsontrish, My husband and I are flying on the 13th of September and would love your pass - I have the offer of one other so we would both be able to use one. Hope you hear from you, Cheers, Driver

anat0l was the beneficiary of a QF pass I gave him in May for FT Ozfest 5 (that was gifted to me, but not able to use). Since them I have joined QF club and have recieved a pass from attaining QF silver which I have offfered to Driver so they have 2 to use on their forthcoming USA trip.

Received in the post passes from Mwenenzi and Parsontrish - much appreciated. Quid pro quo - watch the letterbox!

Two questions:

First, I have two passes expiry in May 2009 that I would like to swap for expiry in June 2009 (or later). These were acquired through Amex and come with the hologram (happy to send scans). Anyone able to assist?

Second, my Father and a friend are flying between Los Angeles and Lima on LAN. I assume they will depart TBIT. The Qantas website lists the lounge there as QF/BA/CX joint lounge. Will passes be valid there, given that it's a joint lounge? I know they are valid at Singapore, for example, where it's a joint QF/BA.

I believe they are OK at T4, but suggest you contact the TBIT lounge and ask.

Fly - The Qantas Club - Lounge Locations - North America

BTW, I'm guessing the answer as being affirmative, Qantas claim to have had a large input into the design and the PC's are indeed clones of those to be found in Domestic QP's and other QF international lounges line SIN, BKK etc.

Ahhhh, I just remembered the new(ish) rules whereby you can only use a complimentary invitation on a QF or JQ flight. My Father and his friend are flying LAN.

I'd still like to swap the cards for June or later validity if anyone is able to assist.

When i was in LA not too long ago i had a couple of the the qantas club complimentary passes on me courtesy of amex
As i was about 5 hours early for my flight i decided to try and use them at the TBIT lounge.

There was a group of three before me who must have used the same passes as i could hear the assistant tell them she is not supposed to let them in however as the lounge was not busy she would let them in anyway, i walked up and handed her my pass and she just said 'thanks' and let me through.

So they might be lucky and be allowed to use them, i think it will depend on the person behind the desk.
Even though i was flying qantas i was never asked for a boarding pass.

Does anyone know how strict qantas are on using expired passes?
I was given an expired pass today by a friend for a flight i will be taking in a few days and was wondering if it is even worth trying?
The expiry was February.

People have reported getting in on expired passes, so give it a try; but do be prepared to slum it out in the terminal if you don't get the nod

Just re-posting my request in post 7. I have two Qantas Club complimentary invitations expiring in May 2009. I'd like to swap them with someone who has two with expiry June 2009 or later. I'm happy to send scans of them first.

Hi Danger,

What will you do with the passes if you can't swap them?

I've also got 1 complimentary pass that expires at the end of May, but I'm actually looking for a couple more.

I have a spare Comp QC Pass that expires August '09 if anyone's interested. First to message gets it!

Well i'll put my hand up for it i my long awaited Malaysian trip is finally coming up :)

As long as I have this right in that I can use it to get into the AA lounge in melbourne international?

But I'll be flying Air Asia - so that might exclude me anyhow?

I don't want to try to snaffle one that might be useful to another person if I can't use it. I can get into the AA lounge but at US$27 a pop

ah the joys of trying to get lounge access

There is no AA Lounge at MEL, Admirals Club members use the Qantas J lounge.

Flying Air AsiaX should mean you will not have access to the Qantas lounge - and I am not aware of any way to buy in as you can to an Admirals Club in the USA.

I think when natt says AA lounge it is (possibly) referring to the (non existant) Air Asia lounge.
