I have been a WP and SG for 9 years now so lounge access has not been an issue. Have stopped travelling and dropped back to my LTS. Prior to making SG for the first time I had bought a multi-year QC membership which was suspended for the duration of the time I was SG/WP. Now it has kicked back in. I see on the QF site that I am QC Silver. But nowhere on the card does it say that.

Accessing QCs (especially domestically) won't be an issue as they can always look up the QFF number.

How do I gain access to ACs as a QC member when travelling in the USA? It used to be you used to have a separate QC card. I can't see how a AC agent would know from looking at my PS card that I am a QC member.

Anyone care to share their experience?

Interesting... Historically it's been the case that QP members do not get a PS card on attaining that status; their QP card suffices. (Due to the reasons of QP access posted).

I would suggest calling Qantas and explian your problem - hopefully they will issue new QP cards for you.

FWIW, how long did you have remaining from the "Suspended" QP membership?

I was a PS With QP and I always received a silver FF card and was always sent a QP card when the renewal was up. I have about 4 in the drawer at home.

I even got a silver card sent to me this year a week before I got my gold.

don't recall - possibly 1-2 years ....

That's why I used the term "historically" ... this was all pre 2000.

My anecdote is from quite a while ago. Back in the mid 90's I attained the exulted QFF status of "Blue" (QP). "Silver" is the "Blue" of today.

I received a welcome pack with an upgrade certificate, a QP invite but no nice "Blue" card.

When I called QFF to ask why I was told the QP card had more oomph as it allowed access to QP's whereas "Blue" did not.

The same happened when I reached "Silver". "Silver" was ~ similar to today's "Gold" - but did not allow QP access back then.

it is my understanding that you should have two cards, a Qantas Club membership card, which will get you access into the various lounges, and a Qantas Frequent Flyer Silver membership card which will also have a OneWorld Ruby splodge on it.

Update: called QFF on Wed morning and spoke to a nice chap - he said i needed separate cards and would send me out a new card - I still have validity to end of next year.

Card arrived in the mail today - superfast!

I'm still waiting for my new QP card to arrive.. I received one when I purchased life membership 3 years ago; but it's now broken along the strip. Have been told one would be sent out, but nothing yet..... and given I've dropped back down to Bronze I actually have no card now!
