Is that delay time spent in the lounge or at the gate?

For J in the 388, which seats would you recommend please?

It would depend where you are when you find out about the delay. If you are still in the lounge, then be guided by the lounge staff. If you are already at the gate it would depend how long the forecast delay is likely, and if was worth walking back to the lounge.

Thanks, hopefully seeing as it is always late, they'd leave us in the lounge. Another thought occurred to me later, that there's a 3rd option - on the plane on the tarmac. Yurk.

Last time I was on the 127 it was delayed too, by an hour. The CSM and one or two other cabin crew visited the F lounge explaining the situation to customers. That was good interaction.

What are you using for your source for this departure time?

Looking at Flightradar24, and all of the departure times are approximately consistent with leaving the gate on time..the times FR24 shows are mostly take off times, which are about 20-25 minutes after departure time from the gate.

I was looking at booking 07 May departure and then compared that departure of 1005 with FlightAware data over the past 10 days. Perhaps it was an incorrect assumption that the schedule would be the same. So, I am pleased that it more or less does leave on time. Tomorrow's schedule is 1125. That's a trap for young old players. Did I not allow for daylight saving or is just a schedule change?

Looking at Flightradar24, and all of the departure times are approximately consistent with leaving the gate on time..the times FR24 shows are mostly take off times, which are about 20-25 minutes after departure time from the gate.

Today (Monday 15 February) QF127 departed from the gate and is expected to arrive on time at HKG at 1745 hours.

It is far from the worst QFi performer in its timekeeping: 'honours' for that go to QF9 and QF10 (MEL - DXB - LHR and return.) As with all flights, one day can be on time (bearing in mind the definition is 'less than 15 minutes late') and the next day it can be dreadfully late.

I was looking at booking 07 May departure and then compared that departure of 1005 with FlightAware data over the past 10 days.
That's your problem here. QF127 is currently operating on the summer timetable, with daylight savings as well. The current scheduled departure is 1135, while scheduled arrival is 1745. According to the data, the on time record arrival record for Feb is currently running at 100%. (It's only 5 mins late on 5 Feb, which is still defined as on time).
