QF ADL Sale flights crediting zero points - “Private corporate airfare”

I recently completed a SYD-ADL return trip using the special QF sale that came out a couple of months ago. Something like $99 each-way booked through a specific QF web page.

The flights appear on my QBR activity but zero points eg:

QF740 operated by QF - DISCOUNT ECONOMY ADELAIDE/SYDNEY
Private corporate airfare

Does that make sense? Anyone experienced similar?

EDIT: BTW, the flights credited correctly to my QFF account with points and SCs

This is ringing bells for me. I'm sure I've had something like this come up on QBR for me previously for a domestic flight. I can't recall how or why, but I know it was resolved in the end after contacting QBR.

Yeah, I meant to mention that normal points/SCs posted on my QFF account.

I’ll lodge a missing points claim and see what happens.

You've prompted me to look back on my QBR statements now. I'm not seeing points ever being added for my flights that fell under "Private corporate airfare". I really can't recall if QBR gave me a good reason for this or I just decided to give up on the battle given total points would have only been around 1000.

I actually have a feeling the flights in question were booked as a sale fare for friends and family of QF staff. Perhaps that was the reason it was classed as a Private corporate airfare for me and no points awarded.

No idea on restrictions. Nothing in the general QBR Ts&Cs exclusions leap out.

I booked mid March and completed travel about a week ago. I don’t have a promo email so perhaps the special sale must have been one of those banners on the website? As per my OP, I do recall you had to go to a specific page to book the fare (which may have included KGC also). I probably would have noticed any exclusions on QBR but maybe that’s potential the issue that this fare wasn’t bootable directly via the QBR portal. I added ABN later.

As usual with QF, there’s no indication of actual fare bucket on the e-Ticket and none of my travel apps/websites provide that level of detail…

Might have to try the QF FF email approach.

They were done in partnership with SATC, so probably some sort of deal/rebate thing happening.

I added a link to the QBR Ts&Cs in my previous (although I’m not sure that link now takes you to the correct spot). It should be the “Exclusion apply” on QBR claim missing points page.

I’m wondering if these fares were categorised under exclusion
“h. discounted private fares or rebated fares under a corporate airfares agreement or travel agent agreement;” ?

You'd actually need to call QBR rather than emailing QF. I've always found calls to QBR are answered pretty quickly.

They have a seperate QBR enquiry form also but I called this morning and did get through straight away (albeit possibly to an offshore call centre).

She wasn’t able to sort it there and then but took the details and would get back to me. I pondered a HUCA but will give them the chance to sort it.

"Unfortunately this fare type is not eligible to earn Qantas points in Qantas Business Rewards, as it is a private discounted fare. Please refer to your travel agent."

I've gone back and said that I booked directly with QF - please clarify....

I'm curious to know what distinguishing mark or feature tags these fares to land in the bit bucket? There's nothing in the QBR Ts&Cs that excludes certain fare classes - that I could see - not that we get to see the fare class at the best of times with QF!

Yeah, I alluded to that in a earlier post. The dedicated booking page would have meant that you couldn’t book directly through the QBR portal. But given that you can add your ABN later to biz travel I’m not sure what the actual difference would be.

I didn’t book them but some of the WA (take a friend offers etc) had similar special booking pages. So they’ll probably be treated similarly…).

Doesn't that just automates adding your ABN? Not sure it applies discounts (if any)?

So I get another response earlier today after I pointed out that I booked direct with QF. The response is basically the same but more convoluted wording including:

“Private fares are made available to certain groups of customer through certain booking channels. They offer discounts and/or different conditions to corresponding published fares.

Unfortunately this fare type is not eligible to earn Qantas points in Qantas Business Rewards, as it is a private discounted fare.

Some private fares are available to QBR members, some are not. For example, a discounted private fare designated for a business with a corporate deal, and distributed through travel agency, is not available to a QBR member who is not on a corporate deal.

Further, QBR member Deal fares are technically private fares but are eligible to earn Qantas Points in QBR because they are specifically designed for the purpose.”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Adelaide/South Oz promotion was publicly available to all????
