Hi all, would like to travel ex-Syd on this offer to maximise QFF points and SC earn. Offer used to list rules about number of stops etc. but it is no longer shown.
Would like to travel via NA and stop in New York for certain but I dont mind going via SA, if possible, only to get max. benefits. Dont mind going NY to west coast USA to travel to Europe, again to get most mileage and SCs. Would appreciate some tips and possible directions on itineraries / tips

Oops, i erred. The webpage does say 7 stops which includes the final destination.

One more point,,,if there are alternative offers for RTW producing similar QFF points and SCs, I would consider.

Hi Foreigner

As for other pricings, can you give an idea if your itinerary?

If you are just looking to go to New York, then you could fly SYD-HNL on QF in Y, then pick a YUP to BOS (own way to New York) for around AUD2800 all up netting 780 status credits for the HNL-BOS leg alone (then add discount Y class SCs to HNL is it 40 each way?) giving 860.

If you wanted to go on to Europe, pick up a cheapie ex New York to LHR/ZRH/BRU/CDG on AA in economy - depending on season, you get that for about AUD700 (I just booked mine for end November).

All up that would be AUD3500 for 910 SCs.

However - if you want Asia on the way back that makes it a bit too expensive.

Alternatively you could fly on a Y class RTW, get to BOS then back-track on a YUP to HNL and rtn (would take you 2 days to do it), bagging the 780 SCs that way.

Can you use points to upgrade if ypu purchase global explorer

Yes. You can upgrade QF sectors as long as booked on a QF flight number.

You can upgrade AA sectors booked on an AA flight number as long as the ticket was issued by AA
